New airline to come to Riga International airport this winter; new destinations to follow

With the introduction of a list of winter season flights at Riga International airport, a new airline will enter the airport – Brussels Airlines. It will introduce six flights per week. New destinations will also be added – Cologne, Poprad, Bradford (Leeds) and Brussels (Charleroi).

Brussels Airlines will begin servicing flights from Riga to Brussels October 26th. Brussels Airlines, which is part of Star Alliance, will be carrying out six flights per week to and from Riga airport. All flights will be scheduled in the afternoon.

Starting with October 30th, airBaltic will increase the number of flights to Moscow. Aside from Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo, flights will be guaranteed to Vnukovo airport.

Starting with December 13th, airBaltic will begin providing flights to Poprad, Slovakia once a week.

Ryanair plans to restore flights to Bradford (Leeds) and Brussels (Charleroi) starting with October 26th. From October 28th and onward, flights will be secured to Cologne and November 1st – to Glasgow.

During this winter season, Austrian Airlines and Turkish Tez Tours will carry out four flights to Innsbruck (Austria).

In total, this winter season will provide residents with 66 destinations represented by 16 airlines: airBaltic, Aeroflot, Austrian Airlines Group, Belavia, Brussels Airlines, Finnair, LOT, Lufthansa, Norwegian, Uzbekistan Airways, Ryanair, Transaero, Turkish Airlines, Onur Air, Wizz Air, Smartlynx.

We remind that Latvia will switch to winter time October 26th; clocks are to be switched one hour back. In order to make sure passengers can arrive to the airport without complications and on time, it is important to check departure time in advance.
