"Brussels Airlines" to launch flights to Riga in October

RIGA, June 20 - At end-October, "Brussels Airlines" will begin flights from Riga to Brussels, providing six flights a week, "Brussels Airlines" informed "Nozare.lv".

The flight schedule will offer connections with other "Brussels Airlines" destinations as well - Rome, Barcelona, Birmingham, Lyon, Manchester and Hamburg.

The flights will be provided in collaboration with "airBaltic". In 2015, the current "Avro RJ 100" aircraft will be replaced with the larger "Airbus 319". Tickets for "Brussels Airlines" flights can be purchased online at "www.brusselsairlines.com". They are also available from travel agencies.

"Brussels Airlines" CEO Bernard Gustin notes that the airline is happy at the opportunity to add Riga to its route network. The flights to Latvia - a country preparing for the EU presidency - confirms that "Brussels Airlines" fully acknowledges its role as the main aviation company of the EU capital. Furthermore, Latvia's presidency will increase the demand for direct flights to Riga, and the airline is certain that the new service will improve the economic and cultural communication between Latvia and Belgium, he said.
