''airBaltic'' to launch new route between Riga and Bucharest

RIGA, March 6 - From June 3, Latvian national airline ''airBaltic'' will launch a new route between Riga and the Romanian capital of Bucharest, the airline informed the business information portal ''Nozare.lv''.

The new four weekly return flights will offer convenient connections between the two capitals and beyond to destinations in the Baltic region, Scandinavia and Russia, the airline points out.

''The new route will be of huge benefit to travelers visiting Riga and Bucharest for business or leisure, in addition to offering seamless connections over our hub, particularly in northern Europe,'' Christophe Viatte, Chief Commercial Officer of ''airBaltic'' points out.

''airBaltic'' will fly from Riga to Bucharest four times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Passengers will board a ''Bombardier Q400 NextGen'' aircraft for a flight that will last for 2 hours 55 minutes.

"airBaltic" serves over sixty destinations from its home base in Riga. The airline was established in 1995. The primary shareholder is the Latvian state with 99.8 percent of shares.
