''USA Today'' includes Riga in its on-line vote as ''Prettiest European City''

The travel section of one of the largest U.S. newspapers ''USA Today'' has included the Latvian capital Riga in its on-line vote as ''Prettiest European City'' in its annual ''Readers' Choice Awards'', the Riga Tourism Development Bureau informed the business information portal ''Nozare.lv''.

A total of 20 European cities have been nominated, with Riga currently in second-place in the vote behind Norway's Bergen. Riga is competing in the on-line vote with such European cities as Budapest, Copenhagen, Florence, Innsbruck, Paris, London, Valencia and several others.

Persons will be able to vote for Riga as ''Prettiest European City'' until November 18. The winner will be announced on November 20, and the results will be later published in the ''USA Today'' newspaper.

Anyone can vote and persons are allowed to vote once per day.
