U.S. producer's film series about Latvia could help attract more tourists

RIGA, May 27 - The film series about Latvia from U.S. television producer, author and personality Ashley Colburn could help attract more tourists, especially from the U.S., "Nozare.lv" was informed by Latvian Tourism Development Agency representative Inta Briede.

The "Ashley Colburn Productions" creative team spent two weeks in Latvia, working together with the Latvian Tourism Development Agency, the Gauja National Park Tourism Cluster and supported by the Liepaja City Council and the national airline "airBaltic". The tourism portal "LiveRiga" also contributed greatly to the organization of the visit. The team became familiar with Riga, devoted a lot of time to Liepaja and spent the last part of the visit in Sigulda.

The total duration of the videos will be 52 minutes. "Ashley Colburn Productions" stories about Latvia will be aired this fall.

The project's costs are estimated at EUR 25,000 (LVL 17,570).

As reported, "Ashley Colburn Productions" stories about Latvia will be aired in not only the United States but also Croatia, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia and other countries.

Over the past three years, Colburn's company has created broadcasts about 25 countries, of which two - about Croatia and Machu Picchu - received the prestigious Emmy Award.
