To satisfy growing demand for bus tickets from Russia to Latvia for the week when 8 March is celebrated, Lux Express plans to organize additional buses between St Petersburg and Riga.

According to Lux Express chairman Andrus Treier, Russian tourists often travel to Latvia to celebrate 8 March. This year, their number may exceed the bus company’s expectations. «Most of the tickets for St Petersburg-Riga-St Petersburg trips have already been sold. Because of that, to ensure we are able to satisfy the growing demand, we plan to organize additional buses in both directions,» says Treier.

The interest for visiting Latvia grows by leaps and bounds in Russia: «More and more often residents of St Petersburg choose to celebrate the International Women’s Day in Latvia. What our passengers like the most about Latvia is that there are no obstacles for communication and that crossing the border is a quick and simple process. Stabilization of Russian rouble’s exchange rate is also a good sign, making the price level more affordable. Latvia’s popularity as a tourist destination also depends on quick and efficient bus traffic,» says Treier.

With increasing number of passengers on the St Petersburg-Riga route, Lux Express plans to organize two additional buses in both directions to satisfy demand of all travellers.
