Gulbis climbs 12 places in ATP rankings

 LONDON, March 18 - After his successful performance at the Indian Wells "Masters 1000" tennis tournament in the United States last week, Latvia's top ranked tennis player Ernests Gulbis has moved up 12 places in the latest ATP rankings and is currently ranked 55th.

At the moment, Gulbis has 801 ranking points.

As reported, at the beginning of March, Gulbis was triumphant in notching his third ATP singles title at Delray Beach, defeating Edouard Roger Vasselin (France) 7-6 (7-3), 6-3. Last week, Gulbis reached the fourth round at Indian Wells, losing to Rafael Nadal (Spain) 6-4, 4-6, 5-7.

Gublis will not participate in this week's Miami "Masters 1000" tournament and will begin preparing for the clay season.

Among the other Latvian players in the ATP rankings, Andis Juska drops 29 places to 335th, Deniss Pavlovs falls two places to 709th, Martins Podzus moves up two places to 919th.
Mikelis Libietis is 1,401st, Krisjanis Stabins - 1,412th, Oskars Vaskis - 1,573rd, Arkadijs Slobodkins - 1,778th.

At the top of the table, Novak Djokovic (Serbia) remains first, followed by Roger Federer (Switzerland) and Andy Murray (Great Britain).
