National hockey team opens exhibition tournament in France with loss to Denmark

 LYONS, Dec 13- Latvian national hockey team was defeated by Denmark in a penalty shootout 2-3 (0-1, 1-0, 1-1, 0-1) in their first game at an exhibition tournament in France's Lyons today.
Roberts Jekimovs and Vitalijs Pavlovs were the scorers for Latvia, whereas Lasse Lassen scored two goals for the Danish team in regulation time and Nicklas Jensen scored the game winning goal in the penalty shootout.
Oskars Bartulis was the Latvian team's skipper today.
The other two teams participating in the tournament are France and Slovenia, which Latvia will play on Friday and Saturday respectively.
