LYUBERTSY (Russia), Nov 29 - Latvian basketball club ''VEF Riga'' dropped its third ULEB Eurocup match in a row, this time to Russian club Lyubertsy ''Triumph'' 77:82.

With the loss, the Latvian club has severely damaged its chances to advance to the tournament's second group stage. ''VEF Riga'' will now need to win its final two group games, and hope for favorable results in the other matches to advance.

The highest scorer for the Latvian club was Earl Rowland with 17 points, followed by Kristaps Janicenoks with 13 points and Dairis Bertans with 12 points.

On the other hand, Tywain McKee was the highest scorer for ''Triumph'' with 15 points.

''VEF Riga'' will play its next ULEB Eurocup match on December 4 at home against German basketball club Artland ''Dragons''.

As reported, ''VEF Riga'' opened the new Eurocup season with a 82:72 victory over Artland ''Dragons'', but has since suffered three losses in a row.

This season's ULEB Eurocup is made up of 32 teams divided into eight groups of four.

Each team in each of the groups will play each other twice - once at home and once on the road. The top two teams in each of the groups will advance to the tournament's final 16.

''VEF Riga'' qualified for the tournament's final 16 last season.
