Dombrovskis in Brussels to discuss cohesion funds in next EU budget

Valdis Dombrovskis/LETA.
RIGA, Nov 13 - Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) is visiting Brussels today to participate in a meeting of European Union state and government leaders where cohesion funding in the European Union's next multiannual budget will be discussed.
Now is the decisive stage in the talks on the EU budget, because the final decision on the next EU budget, including cohesion funding, will be taken at the next European Council meeting on November 22 and 23, State Chancellery's Communications Department informed LETA.
During the meeting in Brussels today, Dombrovskis will inform his colleagues that the cohesion funding has to at least remain at the current level so Latvia could faster attain the average EU development level and so that favorable conditions could be created for the economic growth and infrastructure development in Latvia. The three Baltic countries will have a joint position at the meeting.
