Latvia registers EU's fourth lowest annual inflation in November

 LUXEMBOURG, Dec 14 - Annual inflation in Latvia this past November, 1.5 percent, was the fourth lowest inflation in the European Union, according to the latest data from the EU statistical office "Eurostat".

The lowest annual inflation in November was recorded in Greece - 0.4 percent, Sweden - 0.8 percent, and Cyprus - 1.4 percent.

The highest annual inflation rates were registered in Hungary - 5.3 percent, Romania - 4.4 percent, and Estonia - 3.8 percent.

Annual inflation in Lithuania reached 2.8 percent in November.

Compared to October, annual inflation rose in one member state, remained unchanged in another one and reduced in 24.

The average annual inflation in the EU was 2.4 percent in November, 0.2 percentage points down from October.

Inflation in the euro area reduced 0.3 percentage points to 2.2 percent.

On the other hand, monthly inflation in the EU reduced 0.1 percent in November, in the eurozone - 0.2 percent.

Compared to this past October, Latvia recorded a 0.1 percent deflation, Lithuania - 0.2 percent, Estonia - 0.3 percent.
