Latvia has fastest GDP growth amongst Baltic countries

 RIGA, Dec 7 - In the third quarter of the year, Latvia's GDP grew by 5.2 percent when compared to the same quarter of last year, which was the largest growth amongst the Baltic countries, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau.

Lithuania's GDP growth was 4.4 percent when compared to the third quarter of 2011, while Estonia's was 3.4 percent.

As reported, in the first nine months of 2012 as compared with the same periodiin 2011, Latvia's GDP grew 5.6 percent, the Central Statistical Bureau informed today.

Seasonally adjusted data indicate that Latvia's GDP in the 3rd quarter of 2012 rose by 1.7 percent as compared to the 2nd quarter of 2012.

The European Commission predicts that Latvia will be the fastest growing economy in the EU this year and next year.
