Harmony’s and National Alliance’s popularity on a rise; Unity and UGF become less popular

Popularity of political parties Harmony and National Alliance “All For Latvia!” – “For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK in December. Rating declines, on the other hand, were suffered by parties Unity and Union of Greens and Farmers, as reported by Panorāma programme of LTV with reference to a survey performed by SKDS.

In this survey respondents were asked to tell which party they would vote for at the next Saeima elections.

Sociologist Arnis Kaktiņš told the programme that some changes are noticed in comparison with November. However, those changes are not enough to make conclusions. «Even when there are no major changes it means something and there is room for certain conclusions. For example, everything that is happening with Unity is interesting to observe, even when the party’s popularity increases or declines. And they are still here regardless of what happens,» says Kaktiņš.

Harmony’s rating has reportedly grown from 19.8% to 20.7%.

After a three-month growth period, the Union of Greens and Farmers suffered a popularity decline in December. The party remains the second most popular political force with 14.3% support, which means a one percentage point decline when compared with the previous month.

The third place in the rating is taken by the National Alliance. The party’s rating has grown 0.3 percentage points since November, reaching 7.3%.

Fourth place is taken by the Latvian Association of Regions, which has replaced New Conservative Party, whose rating has grown from 2.4% to 3.6%.

The rating of KPV LV has declined from 1.6% to 1.5% since November.

1.5% of voters, which is an increase of 0.3 percentage points, would support Kustība Par! political association.
