Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau’s launched criminal process regarding possible illegal financing of parties To Latvia from the Heart and Union of Greens and Farmers has identified another involved person.

KNAB plans to submit the criminal case for prosecution in the next couple of months.

In October 2016, KNAB announced there were three suspects and two other persons involved in the criminal process. KNAB press-representative Laura Dūša says a new person has appeared in the case. A criminal process has been launched against them. The names of the six people involved in the criminal process are not revealed in the interest of the investigation.

Dūša notes that the aforementioned criminal process is complicated. Because of the size of the criminal process and length of the investigation, it is not possible to accurately predict how long it may take for the criminal process to be submitted to the prosecutor’s office.

No additional information is released at the moment in the interest of the investigation.

As it is known, Jurmala Mayor Gatis Truksnis is involved in this case, as well as financier associated with To Latvia from the Heart Jorens Raitums and businessman Jūlijs Krūmiņš. TV3 programme Nekā personīga had previously reported that one of the people involved in the case is businessman Anrī Kursītis.

Truksnis’ attorney Jānis Rozenbergs says his client’s security measure has not changed. Truksnis is not allowed to travel from the country or meet a specific person. He also refuses to testify.

Krūmiņš is accused of financing NSL and ZZS through third parties by transferring EUR 135,000 to them.
