Sarah Brightman to appear in Riga with symphony orchestra

RIGA, June 30 - Singer Sarah Brightman together, accompanied by a symphony orchestra, will be live in concert in "Arena Riga" on November 23, "Qazeta AIM" representative Levs Berezins informed LETA.

In 2015, Brightman will be appointed UNESCO Special Envoy and put on a space flight to the International Space Station, therefore, the singer has decided to dedicate herself to music this year to provide audiences with entertainment across Europe.

During the tour, Brightman will perform famous world hits. Her show will feature specially prepared visual effects and video projections to create a mystical atmosphere, Berezins revealed.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats" marked the beginning of her career. Leading roles followed in the musical "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Requiem". She became famous with the song "Time To Say Goodbye", featuring Andrea Bocelli. She has performed at the Olympic Games in Barcelona and Peking.

Berezins calls Brightman the most popular soprano in the world as she has sold more than 30 million records and her concerts are well-attended.

She has sung duets with famous tenors like Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, and with pop legend Cliff Richard ("All I Ask of You"). Her album "Dreamchaser", released in 2013, was her biggest success, Berezins pointed out.
