More than 30,000 turn out for "White Night" events

RIGA, Sept 9 (LETA) - More than 30,000 people turned out on Saturday night to attend the contemporary culture forum "White Night 2013" events, as the "White Night"producer Madara Gruntmane and Indra Vilde, spokeswoman for the Riga City Council's Education, Culture and Sports Department, informed LETA.

Events at the Riga Central market, Tornakalns Church, Riga Cathedral, Vermanes Park and the "Ziemelblazma" culture center were saw the largest audiences, said Vilde.
Also, film-related events saw quite large crowds, for instance, "The Night of the World's Worst Films" screenings in "Kino pagalms" and an event at the Riga Congress Center.

Interactive event "Vacuum Energy" at the Riga Art Space was also quite popular.

"The weather was very good, therefore response was overwhelming," added Vilde.

As reported, the contemporary culture forum "Balta nakts" (White Night) was held in Riga on the night to September 8, offering Rigans and city guests almost sixty contemporary culture projects in the city's center and its vicinity.
