Ostapenko and Sevastova reach second round of the French Open

Latvia's tennis players Jelena Ostapenko and Anastasija Sevastova reach second round of the French Open.

Ostapenko defeated USA tennis player Louisa Chirico - 4:6, 6:3, 6:2 in the first round, but Sevastova beat Annika Beck (Germany) - 6:2, 6:4.

In the second round Ostapenko will meet Monica Puig (Puerto Rico), but Sevastova - Eugene Bouchard (Canada).

The Gala concert of young opera singers will be held in the Latvian National opera

Within the cultural mission for advance of Latvia as a cultural center of Northern Europe which is carried out by Fund “Baltic Musical Seasons”, on August 29 in the Latvian National opera will be held the Gala concert of young opera singers from the different countries of the world accompanied by symphonic orchestra of the Latvian National opera (conductor Martinsh Ozolinsh).
