Dismissed SRS Customs Administration manager Kravalis could be reinstated in his post

It is possible that former head of the State Revenue Service’s Customs Administration Talis Kravalis, who was dismissed in spring 2015, could be reinstated in his post, notes Finance Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola.

In her interview to 900 seconds programme of LNT, the minister emphasized that the only reason why Kravalis could be reinstated is, possibly, incorrect dismissal.

The reason for Kravalis’ dismissal was the lack of permit to access official secrets. Nevertheless, Finance Ministry has received confirmation from the Constitution Protection Bureau that Kravalis’ previously issued permit was not revoked at the time of his dismissal.

The decision about Kravalis’ reinstatement has to be made by the finance minister by Friday. This is why Finance Ministry’s experts currently perform an analysis of associated factors.

If Kravalis is reinstated in SRS, he will return to the post he was dismissed from. Disciplinary cases launched against him would be restarted as well.

As it is known, then the head of SRS Inara Petersone dismissed her deputy and head of Customs Administration manager Kravalis from his post on 29 February.
