Coalition partners not eager to see Kolegova as the head of SRS

Latvia’s government will spend this week and the next deciding on the approval of the next head of the State Revenue Service. Coalition partners plan to interview the only candidate for this post – head of the State Environmental Service Inga Kolegova.

On Monday, 25 July, acting Prime Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola told journalists that the decision in regards to Kolegova’s approval in this post will be made after Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis returns from his vacation.

The meeting with Kolegova is scheduled for Tuesday, 26 July. The Prime Minister will return from vacation for one day next week, 2 August, as explained by Dana Reizniece-Ozola.

Unity and the National Alliance, however, are not in a hurry to express support to Kolegova. They do plan to interview her.

Unity has also requested an explanation of the SRS management supervision process. The minister provided an explanation during the meeting.
