U.S., Baltic and Nordic political consultations to take place today in Washington
Andrejs Pildegovics/LETA.
The participants will discuss the economic integration of Afghanistan and the Central Asian region, energy security in the Baltic and Nordic countries and developments in Russia and the Eastern Partnership initiative. Since the ''e-PINE'' consultation mechanism was established in 2003, the consultations have been traditionally attended by representatives from the foreign ministries of Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the United States to share opinions on the current international and regional processes. As reported, Latvian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andris Teikmanis and Political Director Andrejs Pildegovics began their working visit to the United States earlier this week. leta.lv
