U.S., Baltic and Nordic political consultations to take place today in Washington

 RIGA, Nov 14 - On Wednesday in Washington D.C., the political director of the Latvian Foreign Ministry Andrejs Pildegovics will take part in the annual meeting for political directors of the Baltic, Nordic and United States foreign services in the framework of ''e-PINE'' (Enhanced Partnership in Northern Europe).
The participants will discuss the economic integration of Afghanistan and the Central Asian region, energy security in the Baltic and Nordic countries and developments in Russia and the Eastern Partnership initiative.
Since the ''e-PINE'' consultation mechanism was established in 2003, the consultations have been traditionally attended by representatives from the foreign ministries of Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the United States to share opinions on the current international and regional processes.
As reported, Latvian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andris Teikmanis and Political Director Andrejs Pildegovics began their working visit to the United States earlier this week.
