Dombrovskis thanks Latvian language teachers in Brussels and Luxembourg

Education and Science Minister Vjaceslavs Dombrovskis (Reform Party) yesterday presented the ministry's diplomas to four Latvian teachers at the European Schools of Brussels II and Luxembourg I.

The diplomas were presented to European School of Brussels II teachers Ineta Cara and Dace Vuskane, and European School of Luxembourg I teachers Kristine Jurgensone and Evija Avotina.

Dombrovskis said he was very pleased with the teachers' work to foster ethnic identity and Latvian language skills of the Latvian diaspora.

During the meeting, the teachers and the Education and Science Ministry's representatives discussed Latvian language programs at the Brussels II and Luxembourg I schools, deepening the schools' cooperation with the universities and colleges in Latvia, and a further meeting was agreed where Latvian language teaching methodologies abroad would be discussed.
