«Latvijas autoceļu uzturētājs» chairman Kononovs steps down

In accordance with Law of Commerce, Kononovs has informed LAU of his decision to step down and its shareholder – Transport Ministry. Kononovs was first approved in this post in November 2011. This year’s November would have been the end of his second term. The company’s council has appointed Gints Karps as the acting chairman for now. The council also plans to announce an open contest for the post of the chairman. Anastasija Udalova, Oskars Zemitis and Gints Karps will continue working in the company. Kononovs said his decision to step down was motivated by personal motives. He did not provide more detailed comments on the matter, however. «It was my personal decision. There will be no detailed comments,» he said.
