Inara Murniece to take over Raimonds Vejonis’ duties while he is away

Saeima speaker Inara Murniece will take over President Raimonds Vejonis’ duties for ten days in September while he is abroad, according to information from the Latvian Herald.

Murniece will be performing duties of the state president in the following periods: from 12:00 on 6 September until 11:30 on 8 September, 16:30 on 13 September until 15 September, as well as 14:00 on 18 September until 23 September.

President Raimonds Vejonis will be away on foreign visits on those dates, according to information from the Latvian Herald.

Saeima speaker performs the president’s duties in accordance with Section 52 of the Constitution.

Even now Murniece is performing the president’s duties while he is on vacation.
