New Chief of KNAB – Jekabs Straume

Saeima has picked Jekabs Straume as the new chief of Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau.

86 deputies voted in favour of Straume’s approval in this post.

Before his approval in the post of chief of KNAB, Straume worked in Military Intelligence and Security Service. He also gained experience in combating corruption while working in State Police.

Straume has Master’s degree and lawyer qualification, Saeima reports.

The chief of KNAB is approved by the Saeima for a term of five years following a proposal from the Cabinet of Ministers.
