Betsafe: Riga City Council may remain under Harmony and Honour to Serve Riga![]()

Bookmakers also mention that so-called Latvian parties have turned out to be more serious competitors for Mayor of Riga Nils Usakovs than previously expected. The joint list of Harmony and Honour to Serve Riga could gain approximately 50% of votes. This will be enough to get more than half of mandates, because the division of seats is always favourable towards the winner, Betsafe explains. Continuing, bookmakers say that Usakovs’ and Ameriks’ coalition will likely have less seats in the city council than before. Candidates from joint lists of Latvian Association of Regions and For Latvia’s Development, as well as National Alliance and Unity will likely enter the city council. Union of Greens and Farmers and the New Conservative Party have lower chances of entering the city council (67% probability for UGF and 62% for NCP). KPV LV’s chances of entering the city council are only 20%. If Nils Usakovs does not receive the majority of votes in Riga City Council, the next intrigue will be about Usakovs’ opponents reaching an agreement on the next mayoral candidate. Betsafe bookmakers believe the leader of Latvian Association of Regions Martins Bondars and mayoral candidate from the National Alliance Baiba Broka have the best chances of replacing Usakovs. It is also possible Harmony and Honour to Serve Riga will be able to attract opposition deputies to their side to secure votes for Usakov, Betsafe adds.
