Orkla to produce mayonnaise and sauces in Latvia and Gutta juices in Estonia

In order to concentrate on specific categories of production and enhance the competitiveness of Orkla Foods Latvija, the company has decided to relocate the production of mayonnaise and sauces meant to sale in Estonia and Finland from Estonia to Latvia and relocate production of mustard, sauces, mayonnaise and tomato sauces meant for the sale in Lithuania to this country.

The production of Gutta juices, nectars and other drinks under the brand will be relocated to Estonia. The water and sparkling drinks production plant in Valdlauci will be offered for sale, as reported by the company.

«In order to secure development for the company and use more modern technology, the company has decided to divide production specializations in order better focus and invest more accurately in the production of certain products. By using our special advantages, we can take over production of certain products from our partners in Baltic States. We mainly wish to further develop production of products in which we have been investing considerable funds so far. We also plan to develop them further,» – said Orkla Foods Latvija manager Lolita Bemhena.

As part of this specialization process, production of mayonnaise and sauces will be moved from Estonia and Latvia. This applies to mayonnaise and sauces meant for realization in Estonia and Finland. Production of mustard, salad sauces, mayonnaise and tomato sauces meant for the Lithuanian market will be relocated from Lithuania to Latvia.

Production of juices, nectars and juice drinks will continue at Valdlauci plant until the beginning of 2017, after that the production of those products will be relocated to Orkla’s Põltsamaa Felix production plant in Estonia.
