''Ventspils'' through to BBL finals

 VENTSPILS, March 22 - On Thursday, Latvian basketball club ''Ventspils'' defeated Estonian basketball club Tallinn ''Kalev/Cramo'' 78:65 in a second-leg Baltic Basketball League (BBL) semifinals match, thus winning on aggregate and advancing to the BBL finals.

''Ventspils'' defeated ''Kalev/Cramo'' on aggregate 139:129.

The highest scorer for ''Ventspils'' was Donald Sims with 23 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Latvian guard Armands Skele, who plays for ''Kalev/Cramo'', scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds.

This is the first time that ''Ventspils'' has reached the BBL finals.

In the other semifinals match-up, Latvian basketball club ''Barons kvartals'' will take on Lithuanian basketball club ''Prienai'' in a second-leg match this evening.

As reported, Lithuanian basketball club Kaunas "Zalgiris" and Vilnius "Lietuvos Rytas", as well as Latvian basketball club "VEF Riga" will only enter the BBL for a post-season tournament called the BBL Supercup, which will be held after the BBL finals.
