Latvia takes on Liechtenstein in World Cup qualifier this evening

 RIGA, March 22 - The Latvian national football team will take on Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier this evening.

The match will be played in Vaduz (Liechtenstein) and will kick-off at 8:30 p.m. (Latvian time).

The match will be broadcast live on LTV7.

At the moment, Latvia is ranked 108th in the FIFA rankings, while Liechtenstein is ranked 157th.

Right now in Group G, Greece and Bosnia & Herzegovina are tied for first place with 10 points, followed by Slovakia (7 points), Lithuania (4 points), Latvia (3 points) and Liechtenstein (0 points).

Latvia will play its next World Cup qualifier on June 7 at home against Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The qualification tournament itself will last until October 15, 2013. The winner of the nine European qualification groups will automatically qualify for the 2014 World Cup, while the second place finishers will play in an additional playoff round.
