Riga ''Dinamo'' victorious in KHL Hope Cup finals

 KHABAROVSK (Russia), March 20 - Today, Latvian ice hockey club Riga ''Dinamo'' defeated Russian ice hockey club Khabarovsk ''Amur'' 5:3 in the fourth game of the Kontinental Ice Hockey League's (KHL) Hope Cup finals, thus winning the post-season tournament.

''Dinamo'' won the best-of-five series 3-1.

Rodrigo Lavins, Oskars Cibulskis, Gunars Skvorcovs, Vitalijs Pavlovs and Martins Bicevskis scored the goals for ''Dinamo'', while Evgenii Orlov, Anton Poleschuk and Timofey Shishkanov scored the goals for ''Amur''.

As reported, Riga ''Dinamo'' defeated Russian ice hockey club Nizhny Novgorod ''Torpedo'' on aggregate in the qualification round of the Hope Cup, then defeated Ukrainian ice hockey club Donetsk ''Donbass'' three games to two in the quarterfinals and finally defeated Belarus ice hockey club Minsk ''Dynamo'' three games to zero to advance to the finals.

LETA also reported, Riga ''Dinamo'' finished the KHL's regular season in 14th place in the Western Conference and did not qualify for the KHL playoffs. On the other hand, ''Amur'' finished in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

This is the first time in team history ''Dinamo'' did not qualify for the KHL playoffs.

The ten KHL teams that did not qualify for the playoffs competed in a special post-season tournament called the Hope Cup.
