Latvia defeats Slovakia at World Floorball Championships; will play Norway for 5th place today

 ZURICH (Switzerland), Dec 8 - On Friday, the Latvian men's floorball team defeated Slovakia 6:2 in the semifinal match for 5th to 8th place at this year's World Floorball Championships.
With the win, Latvia will play Norway for 5th place today. The top five teams in the tournament automatically qualify for the next World Championships.
Artis Raitums scored two goals for Latvia, while Janis Rajecskis, Henrijs Uzraugs and Mihails Kostusevs scored a goal a piece. Slovakia also had an own goal.
As reported, on Thursday, Latvia lost to Germany 2:4 in the quarterfinals of the World Men's Floorball Championships.
In the group stage, Latvia finished in first place in Group C, defeating Japan and the United States, as well as winning group favorites Czech Republic.
The Latvian team has finished in fifth place in each of the last three World Floorball Championships.
