Latvian floorball team beats Japan, advances to World Floorball Championships quarterfinals

 ZURICH (Switzerland), Dec 4 - Latvian national men's floorball team rolled over Japan in the second Group C match at the World Floorball Championships on Monday, going through to the championships' quarterfinals.
Mihails Kostusevs scored three goals for Latvia, while the other scorers were Janis Jansons, Andris Rajeckis, Martins Rajeckis, Ingus Laivins, Andris Malkavs, Morics Krumins, Artis Raitums, Ainars Juskevics and Toms Akmenlauks.
As reported, on Sunday Latvia defeated the United States 8-3, whereas Japan lost to the Czech Republic 1-21.
In another Group C game yesterday, the Czechs beat the U.S. team 13-4.
Latvia will play the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
As reported, two best teams in each group will advance to the championships' quarterfinals.
Latvia is currently ranked 5th in the world floorball rankings, the Czech Republic is ranked third, Japan is ranked 13th, while the United States is ranked 15th.
The Latvian team has finished in fifth place in each of the last three World Floorball Championships.
