Russian transport minister to arrive on visit to Latvia

 RIGA, Dec 10 - Today, on an invitation from Latvian Transport Minister Aivis Ronis, Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov will arrive on a working visit to Latvia, LETA was informed by Ronis' spokesman Aivis Freidenfelds.
Sokolov and Ronis will meet today to discuss bilateral cooperation in the transportation sector, including air, rail and road transportation.
While in Latvia, Sokolov will also meet with Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (Reform Party). Both officials are the co-chairmen of the Latvian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission.
The Russian transport minister will also meet with the president of state-owned joint-stock company ''Latvijas dzezcels'' Ugis Magonis to discuss matters involving rail transportation, visit the Freeport of Riga, meet with Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs (Harmony Center) and become familiar with the training center of Latvian national airline "airBaltic".
