Baltic prime ministers to meet in Riga next week

On Monday, 4 February, there will be a meeting of Baltic prime ministers at Art Museum Riga Bourse.

It is expected the meeting will focus on topics associated with EU budget after 2020, Brexit, regional transport and energy projects, as well as topics associated with information space, election security and relations with Russia, Ukraine and USA, BNN was told by Cabinet of Ministers press-secretary Sabīne Spurķe.

This meeting will be attended by Latvian Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš, Estonian Prime Minister Jiri Ratas and Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.

Baltic Ministers Council is a special cooperation institution jointly governed by Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. It was formed on 13 June 1994. Meetings of Baltic Ministers Council are organized at least once a year. Latvia is this year’s presiding country.

Programme of the visit:

09:35 – arrival of Baltic prime ministers to Art Museum Riga Bourse – welcoming event and photo op. (Dome Square 6).

10:00-10:45 – Baltic prime ministers discuss topical developments in EU.

11:00-11:45 – Baltic prime ministers discuss regional and international developments.

11:50-12:20 – Baltic prime ministers hold joint press-conference. Media representatives asked to come before 11:20! Entry for media representatives from Art Museum Riga Bourse staff entrance (Mazā Pils Street).

Participants of the event must have with them personal identification – passport or ID card. Information collected for the event will be used only for the specific event. Data will be stored until the end of the event – 4 February.
