Ministers elected to Saeima to temporarily work both in government and the parliament

Ministers elected in Latvia’s parliament will continue working both in the 13th Saeima and the government until a new Cabinet of Ministers has been approved.

Members of Latvia’s government except for Dzintars Rasnačs, Rihards Kozlovskis, Kārlis Šadurskis and Kaspars Gerhards have been elected to the 13th Saeima.

On Tuesday, 6 November, 13th Saeima gathered for the first meeting. At the end of the meeting, Latvia’s Cabinet of Ministers officially announced putting down its mandates. Nevertheless, the current government will continue working as usual until a new government has been approved.

Members of the government plan to combine their duties in the government and Saeima, as confirmed by interviewed politicians.

Members of the current government that have been re-elected to the Saeima include Māris Kučinskis, Arvils Ašeradens, Raimonds Bergmanis, Edgars Rinkēvičs, Dana Reizniece-Ozola, Dace Melbārde, Jānis Reirs, Uldis Augulis, Anda Čakša and Jānis Dūklavs.
