Mayor of Riga and leader of Harmony Nils Ušakovs has no plans to start in this year’s Saeima elections and next year’s European Parliament elections.

On Friday, 6 July, Ušakovs stressed in his interview to Rīta panorama programme of LTV that it is his decision and that he plans to continue working in Riga.

He revealed that Harmony’s candidate lists are 85% complete.

When asked about Union of Baptist Churches in Latvia Bishop Pēteris Sproģis, who was the first number in the candidate list in Vidzeme and was the party’s presidential candidate but later decided not to participate in elections, Ušakovs was reserved. It is likely the party’s first number will be someone else. He did not name any of Harmony’s presidential candidates.

As reported, Harmony had initially picked Sproģis as its first number in Vidzeme and the party’s presidential candidate. But he later decided not to take part in 13th Saeima elections and that he is no longer Harmony’s presidential candidate.
