Non-government organization for European Union administrative data analysis MEP Software has presented the latest rating of MEPs. In it, Roberts Zīle is put on the top of the list of MEPs from Latvia and Baltic States as one of the most active members of the European Parliament.

It is mentioned in the report that the organization’s developed methodology took into account multiple important quantitative indexes. Among them is involvement of MEPs in formulation of reports, participation in plenary sessions, posts in EP structures, as well as attendance of plenary sessions. This time around, however, MEPs’ rank was affected slightly by coverage of matters discussed in plenary sessions on social media accounts.

Roberts Zīle has been recognized as the most active MEP from Latvia and Baltic States. In the rating, he is put among five most active MEPs from Nordic countries and Central Europe and on 19th place among 751 members of the European Parliament.

«All this without doping,» Zīle mentioned on his social media accounts, ironically referring to the disqualification of Russia’s national team from Olympic Games.

Zīle was elected as Vice-President of European Conservatives and Reformists Group in the eighth parliamentary term; he also served as rapporteur in relation to European Parliament’s and Council’s regulation on EU Railway Agency. In addition, he has served as his faction’s coordinator for ten years.

Data published by the organization shows that Sandra Kalniete is next after Roberts Zīle (96th place, 74 points), as well as Krišjānis Kariņš (113rd place, 69 points). Iveta Grigule, Inese Vaidere and Tatjana Ždanoka are mentioned among the least active MEPs.
