Four divas, one premier and one conductor will grace productions at Wien Staatsoper this season, with Maija Kovaļevska first on board.

Kovaļevska's turn as Amelia in Verdi's "Simon Boccanegra" in mid/end-February is sure to be thrilling as her partner in the title role will be none other than Placido Domingo.

Also late February, Latvian tenor Aleksandrs Antoņenko will star in Puccini's "Tosca", but in March - "Aida".

Next spring, lead roles will be sung by three more magnificent ladies - Marina Rebeka, Kristīne Opolais and Elina Garanča, and Andris Nelsons will conduct "Yevgeniy Onegin" for performances in April.
