Three concerts to be held in Tallinn and Helsinki to commemorate Riga store collapse victims

Three church concerts will take place in Tallinn and Helsinki this week to commemorate the victims of the November 21 Zolitude supermarket tragedy, the "Postimees Online" news portal reports.

The Estonian Music and Theatre Academy Choir, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir soloists will perform the works of Monteverdi, Mozart, and Estonian composer Esko Maimets' "Ave Maria". Conducting will be Tonu Kaljuste along with his students.

The call to commemorate the victims of the Zolitude tragedy was made last week by the Estonian Rotary Club.

"The people of Latvia are in deep mourning these days. We are with our neighbors in these difficult moments, looking into the future together. Estonian and Latvian Rotary clubs call to support education of children who lost their parents in the accident," the Estonian Rotary Club points out in a statement to the mass media.

The concerts will take place in Tallinn's Methodist Church on December 5, in Swedish St Michal's Church in Tallinn on December 7 and in Helsinki Dome Church on December 8.
