17 investors interested in Kemeri Sanatorium

RIGA, March 25 - Talks are underway with seventeen prospective investors, including from China, about the sale of the Kemeri Sanatorium complex, newspaper "Diena" reports.

The offer to investors was prepared by Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIDA) in cooperation with Latvian Privatization Agency, Jurmala City Council and State Cultural Monument Protection Inspection. LIDA says that there have been many inquiries, but the names of the prospective investors cannot be made public as yet.

"At the moment, talks are underway with a total of seventeen prospective investors about the possibility of investments in the given project," LIDA public relations manager Vineta Vilistere-Lace told "Diena".

The investment offer is available in not only English but also in Chinese.

The Kemeri Sanatorium complex is to be sold at auction on April 9. The starting price will be LVL 3.7 million.

Privatization of the Kemeri Sanatorium has been continuing for more than ten years already.
