Latvia ranked 36th in "Bloomberg's" ranking of best countries for business

NEW YORK, Jan 28 - The influential business news agency "Bloomberg" has ranked Latvia 36th best country for business. In 2011, Latvia was ranked 28th.

Lithuania is 37th, up three spots from 2011. Estonia is 43rd, down nine places from 2011.

The most favorable conditions for business are in Hong Kong, the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Denmark and Great Britain.

"Bloomberg Rankings" measured 161 countries on a scale of zero to 100 percent based on six factors - the costs of setting up business, hiring and moving goods; the degree of economic integration; less tangible costs such as inflation and corruption; and the readiness of the local consumer base, a category that includes the size of the middle class, household consumption and gross domestic product per person.
