Revenue of Latvia’s national airBaltic airline reached EUR 180.8 million in the first six months of 2018, which is also 19% more when compared to the same period of last year, BNN was told by the company.

At the same time, the airline carried 1.9 million passengers in the first half of 2018, which is a 20% increase. The airline also performed 13% more flights than last year.

airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss: «In the past several years the airline has demonstrated promising results, gradually expanding its capacity. For 2018 we expect better results than last year. Still, we have to keep in mind macroeconomic factors like oil price and US dollar exchange rate, which has the potential to affect our situation.»

«The company’s new business plan Destination 2025 provides for continuing airBaltic’s two-digit growth. By introducing more direct flight connectivity from all three Baltic capitals, airBaltic will remain a leader in the Baltic region,» adds Gauss.
