ldaris concluded 2017 with a significant increase in their non-alcoholic beer category of products. Demand for non-alcoholic beer has increased across all of Latvia – market growth was 9% in 2017, as reported by the company’s representatives.

Last summer, Aldaris released a new product – non-alcoholic lager and wheat beer. By the end of the year, non-alcoholic beer category formed 7% of Aldaris’ total sales, which is considerable growth, the company reports.

Aldaris board member Sigita Ozola comments: «We are satisfied with our accomplishments on the non-alcoholic market. We are happy to see that Latvian buyers are becoming more open to non-alcoholic beer. We will continue actively working on improving and modernizing our products in 2018 to meet our clients’ expectations.»

The company explains that non-alcoholic beer is becoming more popular in Latvia and around the world, because more and more people pick up healthy lifestyle trends – do sports, eat healthy means and reduce alcohol consumption.

Non-alcoholic beer is a great alternative to people who like beer but do not wish to consume it every day. Aldaris non-alcoholic beer is brewed the same way as classical beer, using the same natural ingredients – water, malt, hops and yeast. It does not contain any artificial preservatives, colours and flavours. It also contains less sugar and calories than classical beer or soft drinks. This makes it especially friendly to those who wish to lose weight. It is also a good source of B group vitamins, amino acids, calcium, phosphor and magnesium, representatives say.

Diet specialist Ksenija Andrijanova says: «Beer is an interesting beverage from a nutritional value standpoint. It is a great source of B group vitamins, which are important to sustain the function of the body’s metabolic and nervous system. As for mineral substances, beer contains magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and selenium. The last one – selenium – is especially important because it is an antioxidant. Still, as attractive as it may sound, doctors do not recommend beer as a reliable source of vitamins – mainly because of alcohol. Nevertheless, the situation changes if the beer in question is non-alcoholic.»
